TAPE
Synopsis:
Three former classmates reunite in Hong Kong, but a buried secret resurfaces, forcing them to confront the past, each other, and the limits of truth.
About the Film:
Based on the 2001 indie hit Tape, originally written by Stephen Belber and directed by Richard Linklater, both of whom return as executive producers, this retelling transposes the story from the U.S. to Hong Kong. The new setting offers a fresh perspective, as the region continues to grapple with the #MeToo movement while navigating the complexities of our technology-driven world. Since the film is in Cantonese, I worked closely with translators throughout post-production to ensure the story was told authentically. Ultimately, the performances and emotional truth transcended the language barrier.
Release:
As part of a successful festival run, Tape had its UK premiere at Raindance Film Festival, where it was nominated for Best International Feature. The film had its theatrical debut in Hong Kong and is slated for theatrical release in additional territories, including the UK, later this year.

Murder Ballads: How to Make it in Rock 'n' Roll
Synopsis:
Six interconnected stories tell the rapid rise and violent fall of Rock band Stack of Corpses, who attempt to jump start their career by stealing a dead singer’s song.
About the Film:
Structured like an album with each chapter playing out like a ‘track’, the film weaves together tales of ambition, greed, and rock-star delusion. Legendary British actor Simon Callow (Four Weddings and a Funeral) enthusiastically plays against type as a drug-addled rock star. Murder Ballads is a darkly comedic love letter to music, laced with insanity, bad decisions and plenty of blood. A passion project born from my desire to edit more horror and comedy, I made the film on a 30K budget, guiding it from script to final delivery alongside my other professional commitments.
Release:
Murder Ballads had a strong festival run, premiering at Nightmares Film Festival and closing out at Kevin Smith’s SModcastle Film Festival, with numerous screenings in between. Following its successful festival circuit, the film secured distribution through Studiodome/Entertainment Squad and is now available digitally on Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Google Play, YouTube, Fandango at Home, and more.

Kill Your Lover
Synopsis:
When Dakota tries to break off her toxic relationship with Axel, it starts transforming him into a monstrous creature with increased aggression, a touch that melts skin and worst of all, he’s contagious.
About the Film:
Kill Your Lover is a low-budget relationship horror that leans into its striking practical effects. As the sole assistant editor, I was responsible for organising and logging all the dailies. I used Adobe Premiere Productions to break down the film by scene, meticulously logging the footage to streamline post-production. I also created stringouts for each scene, broken down by line and action. With many scenes heavily improvised, these prep sequences helped the editor quickly navigate and construct each scene with efficiency.
Release:
Distributed globally by Dark Sky Films, Kill Your Lover is available on major streaming platforms, including Amazon Prime, Apple TV and Google Play.

The Audition
Synopsis:
In the midst of a global pandemic an actor who enters an audition must pass a series of tests in order to keep those around him alive.
About the Film:
Filmed and released during the pandemic, The Audition is a micro-budget horror/thriller that uses video calls as a primary storytelling device. This approach created a unique editing challenge, with extensive footage on both sides of the screen and significant VFX work needed to seamlessly integrate the action between video feeds. Due to tight budget and scheduling constraints, I took on multiple roles, serving as my own assistant editor, handling a larger portion of the VFX work, and acting as post producer.
Release:
Distributed globally by Trinity Creative Partnerships, The Audition is available on major streaming platforms, including Amazon Prime and Google Play.

About the Series:
Written by Stephen Belber and Bizhan Tong, Forensic Psychologist is an interrogation room drama that delves into the minds of those accused of unthinkable crimes, while also exploring how Dr. Cheung’s personal and professional lives begin to blur. As editor for three episodes and the fine cut editor for the remaining nine, I ensured a cohesive visual and narrative style across the entire season. With portions of or entire episodes in Cantonese, I worked closely with translators to ensure the performances were accurate in both tone and dialect.
